MD3800F controller replacement
Hello
My name is Emiliano.
I have an MD3800F, it has 2 controllers, one of them is broken and the storage does not detect it.
I would like you to tell me what the procedure is for replacing the damaged controller with a new one.
I am looking forward to your response
Thank you
Greetings

Emi87,
What you will need to do, if you have redundant controllers, is to remove the bad controller and then insert the new one. Once the new controller has been inserted give it about 10 minutes to sync with the current controller before bring it online. When the new controller is syncing it is going to match the firmware of the current controller as well as will copy the configuration to the new controller of all your virtual disk info. There is normally no down time needed, but you do want to limit I/O as much as possible. Also, on a side note, you don’t need to remove the SD card on the failed controller as all the data will be copied from the current working controller.
Let me know if this helps.
