To successfully migrate to the next release of OME from 1.1.1, please make sure to back up your database prior to upgrade.

You will need to first install OME 1.2 and then 1.2.1 (hot fix).

If you import the latest Dell catalog, there are couple of known issues w.r.t Broadcom and Intel driver/firmware updates. These issues are not related to OME 1.2 or earlier version, but is more related to the latest Dell catalog on ftp.dell.com. These issues will be addressed in Q4 timeframe.

I'm not really worried about OME itself not functioning after the upgrade, I just want to ensure the act of upgrading doesn't kick off any upgrades to clients or anything that could possibly impact any servers I have registered in OME.

It is an in-box upgrade and will not trigger any updates to clients. After the upgrade is successful, you will need to re-discover all the targets/nodes.

Just FYI...OME 1.2 is only supported on the following operating systems:

Microsoft Windows Server 2008 SP2 Standard and Enterprise Editions (x86 and x64)
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Standard and Enterprise Editions
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Standard and Datacenter Editions
