I unplugged my computer while updateing the BIOS

Interrupting the BIOS update is pretty much the worst possible thing that can happen.  Your motherboard might be dead.

 

You can try unplugging the machine, removing the motherboard battery and pressing the power button for 10 seconds. Then let it sit for 10 minutes and put it back together and try booting up.  Not likely to work, but it might.

How to recover from a semi failed bios flash.

Shut down the PC, unplug the power cord and hold the power button in for 15 seconds.

Open the case and remove the cmos battery for 15 Minutes (note the polarity of the battery before removal) Reinsert the battery after 15 Minutes, close the case and plug it in, then do the following before doing anything else. (replace cmos battery with a new one if it is older than 3 years)

Power up the PC

If the PC fails to post, repeat the battery removal steps, this time leave the cmos battery out for 24 hours.

If this fails to get the Post screen, you will need a new motherboard.

I've seen this suggestion out there a few times, has it ever worked for anyone that you know of?

Yes it has, it all depends at what stage the failed flash occured, no way to know but try my suggestion to find out.

Yes it works. Like monbodog said, "depends on the stage of failer"

 

Although it didn't work for me this time, I tried it with my Dimention 8400 and got good results.

 

I still have to find a way to replace the Bios or motherboard on this PC so I'm not tagging this one as solves yet.

 

If anyone has any ideas, please let us know.
