I purchased inspiron 5491 recently, and facing the same issue. Screen is very yellowish. Is it a hardware fault?

Same bloody problem...
I guess that is what you get with a 300 nit display- nice res, lousy whites.
But with the new windows 10 gray fetish of low contrast borders-it makes for hard reading even if you are 20/20.
My old IBM thinkpad x120e has a white display.
Here is what I found helped a little.
Like the master poster above:
1. Turning off battery mode, setting the brightness higher batt mode helped slightly.
2. In Device Manager I noticed the monitor for this guy is just "Generic PNP monitor."
3. Try setting up a new color profile to increase the whiteness of the screen. Adjust the R,G,B settings to make it as white as possible.
4. Adjust the screen angle shallower to optimize white.
5. I suspect as a light researcher, the gamut of colors on this display is rather suboptimal--would use stronger words. It might help if Dell provided a real driver for this display instead of relying on Win 10.
I despise too much gray and thin lines. Steve Jobs would have had a few choice words for this display.

My unit is an Inspiron 5391. 13" screen laptop.
Screen has beautiful 2kx1.2K res. 32 bit color, but lousy white rendition of screen.

I have the same issue
I just received my Dell Inspiron 5593. The yellow screen strains my eyes and gives me headache
Somebody from Dell already did a remote troubleshooting but it did not solve the problem
any suggestions please? thanks

I just received a new Vostro 7500 (1 TB SSD and Nvidia 1650 Ti with 6 cell battery). I'm very disappointed that the display isn't very bright and also has an unacceptable yellow tint. I've tried adjusting the brightness and the display color calibration without success. I've never experienced this issue with any laptop display or desktop monitor. This is unacceptable.

- Open the Control Panel.
- In the top left corner of Control Panel, type Color Management. In the list of results click Color Management.
- In the device drop down menu, choose the monitor that has the yellow tint.
- Check Use my settings for this device box. Click Add.
- Choose sRGB Virtual Device Model Profile, then click OK.
- Left click on the new profile you just added then click Set as Default Profile.
