It is a tough choice!  I like the neoprene case because it is an extra soft layer of protection that you can utilize to stuff your laptop into any bag easily and not have to worry about damage. It also has that zippered pocket on one side to put your charge cord or an external dvd player or hard drive.  On the other hand, I like the binder style case as well because all you have to do is flip it open and use your lap top.  I think if I were you I would get them both and go with the one that fits your situation of the day.  they both have their own function and could be used together.  I have an M15X and I don't think they even make a case at all much less 2 to choose from. (They should offer it, I think- for every size) I don't think that the zipper is going to scratch your m11x.  If you look at the 3rd photo you can see that it is off set enough to not hit the computer if it is fully zipped shut.  You could also replace the zipper tab with a nylon pull tab that you can pick up at any sporting goods store.  You know, the kind that go on back packs and ski jackets, and then just put some soft neoprene tape all the way sown the zipper if you are worried about it .  I like the fact that there is a place to put a business card or some contact information in the binder style one as well.  At least you would stand a chance of seeing it again if you should misplaced it.
