CPU FAN-please help!!!
Hello. i have a 2-year old Dimension desktop. The fan stopped running last night, and i do not want to use the computer without a cooling system. It has been very hard getting hold of Dell. Anyone has any advice where i can find another fan, and whhat a reasonable price would be to pay for one? Thank you all!

Why has it been hard to get a hold of Dell? Are they busy? Just try to get a hold of them at off peak times.
Not to barge right in here and start a lil "sumthin sumthin", but have you tried calling Dell lately?
The last time I called them was in late June of 02. Took 1 hour, 30 minutes to get a representative.
I have a lifetime hardware (phone) warranty on this old computer, but I don't ever call Dell because of the wait, and the fact that if you have a hardware problem... Guess what? They say it's something else... Anything to get you to pay 30 bucks for their help.As for the person who needs help...
Open up your case (if you don't know how, it should be listed in your owner's manual), unplug the case fan from the motherboard, and then pop the fan out. The most reccomended place for getting computer supplies would be CompUSA. Take it to them, ask them to find you a fan that's like yours, and they'll most likely have one in stock for about 20 bucks or less, but I can't promise anything. You could also try Ebay, but most, if not all of them will be "pulls" and may or may not work.Charger
