My GX620 currently has two 1GB memory modules but as I now have Windows7 64-bit, what is the maximum memory I can install?

The upgrade section says 4GB (with the warning that a 32-bit OS will see less than this) but since a 64-bit OS can see more than 4GB (my Studio XPS has 6GB) why can't I fill the slots with 2GB modules?
