i have a new palm and cannot get it to sync. I have it plugged to the only port available but cannot get it to sync

how do i know if it is working or if it is a usb ..it was the only port the cradle would fit into and the only one i had available. comes up as com 1. it appears the mouce use that port too.

are you getting an error message? Is your Com1 port working, or is it usb connection......more info please
