RAM Problem (and diagnostics isn't helping)

I have a dell XPS 9100 with 12 GIG of RAM.

A few weeks ago I started getting blue screens that all appear to be memory related.

Today when I checked the "SYSTEM" information to see how much RAM Windows thinks I have installed and it says I only have EIGHT GIG instead of the TWELVE GIG I have installed.

I have run the following diagnostic programs several times and they ALL come up clean EVERY time with NO ERRORS whatsoever.

  • "My Dell" diagnostics
  • the diagnostic utility from the boot menu
  • Windows Memory Diagnostic utility
  • and the diagnostics utility on the Dell website

I know there are six slots for RAM (each having 2 GIG) and now I know TWO of them are not working but I have no idea which ones.

To make matters worse the extended warranty I purchased on 06/11/2011 expired YESTERDAY!

I have no idea what to do next. If anyone could help me I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks in advance
