I am having a tough problem with a Dimension 8400 running Win XP Pro.

On Startup the display says that the system config is missing or corrupt. I tried the boot to last good configuration, no luck, I tried changing the boot sequence and boot from CD using the XP CD that came with the system, again no luck. The system will get to the point of inspecting the hardware configuration and stays there for hours.

Any Suggestions
