Received a new D810 a few weeks ago and noticed a very odd "thing:" 

 

Not all of the time, but many times when I boot it up using a power cord (either the one's supplied with the laptop, or an older power cord that I received with an earlier D800 Latitude), I get an error message during the POST test saying that the laptop was unable to determine the type of ac adaptor and I might not receive optimal performance.

 

I've always been able to get by this when booting up out of hte docking station, just hit F1.

 

Howerver, today, I started to get it while in the docking station as well, and there was no way to get past it (didn't present me with the same options).

 

I had to take the laptop out of the dock, boot up entirely (pressing F1 to get past the ac warning), go fully into Windows, then shut down entirely, and boot up again within the Dock.  That seemed to work.

 

Anyone else seen something like this?  I would think that since I'm using the power cord (and "brick") that came with the laptop that it should have no issues recognizing it on boot up (I would also assume that the cord/brick from the D800 series should be compatible as well).
