Damaged hardware or something else
XPS M1530 VISTA32Premium is making me nuts: at 1-5min intervals it drops FPS from 60 to 4 for about an hour; this happens on any game except Fallout3 which seems to live-up to its marking saying it's optimized for DualCore but the problem is worst in TeamFortress2 and Day of Defeat Source with interval of 5 seconds for 2 hours. I think the graphics card is damaged. I had deleted one Trojan Downloader that HijackThis had found but the drops became more serious, to the current when back then it was 30min interval for 5min.
PS. Oh and this isn't just FPS drop in 3D applications, the whole 'puter lags when FPS drops.
Ask questions :)

Welcome to the forums :emotion-21:
I was thinking the SeTag would help someone responding...
How - exactly?
it doesn't feel that personal, to me.
Your service tag could be used by anyone unscrupulous, to find out all your personal details - and possibly then all sorts of other information :emotion-3:
As for your problem:
VISTA 32 Premium is making me nuts
It's nothing to do with the OS. I'm using Vista Home Premium 32bit myself (XPS M1730), and I don't have any problems playing games - including those you mention.
The problem lies elsewhere in your system.
Have you tried reinstalling/updating the graphics drivers - for starters?
Do you shut down any unnecessary background processes, before starting games?
Have you re-checked for viruses and spyware?
Have you cleaned your system of junk files etc?

Fine, if that's how I and my responses are being treated with deletion, I won't come asking for help anymore. Idiots.

Oh sorry, I was thinking the SeTag would help someone responding as it doesn't feel that personal, to me.
