Error code #M1004
Do i really need to call dell support for this i just got my Inspiron 8200 (Cust #022308494) a few days ago and right out of the box i had this error. I have reinstalled the XP i have installed Windows 2000, i have flashed the bios and nothing seems to work. I can't find anything in the knowlege base to help me either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

To verify it is that, if the fans are running full all the time and things are slow, then hit Fn + Z and see if the fans turn off.

Dell Spare Parts - 1-800-624-9896, select option 2, then 2, then 4, then 3, then 2- I called Dell on this issue after upgrading to Bios AO6 from AO4. The fix they are offering is a new motherboard or put another way a refurbished motherboard. They suggested trying to reverse the BIOS but did not give your instructiuons of running the executable fom the AO4 downloaded file. Which by the way worked and fixed the issue. Dell also says that they will have AO7 out by the 15th because they can not afford to replace all of the motherboards of people with the problem. Just and FYI.
