I am currently looking for an external hard drive.  I have an Inspiron 6000 that I am using to edit home movies and such.  I am finding that my 80 GB Hard drive is getting small.  Does anybody have any suggestions? I am currently looking to get a 300 GB External Hardrive.  I have seen them from Maxtor, Seagate, and Western Digital.  The Maxtor 300 GB is $300, while the Seagate 300 GB is about $250.  I have also seen a Western Digital 400 GB and 320 GB for $300.  The price is not that big a concern, I want a quality External Hardrive that will work well for me.  I plan to mainly store video, as well as Didgital photos on it and use it to back up some work and personal files from my laptop. I also plan to keep it connected to a new desktop that I will be purchasing later in the year, but I want the ability to hot swap if I need to.  I appreciate the help.
