We need more information about what it does when you hit the power button, where the glass hit the computer, etc., before we can help you out.

Thanks for such a quick response!   I dropped the glass on the left side of the keyboard (about the s,d,f keys).

Also, when I attached the ac adaptor cord the green light comes on for about 2 seconds and then shuts off.

    Thanks again!

Sounds like it could be a motherboard issue, or maybe you knocked your RAM loose. What kind of notebook is it? that will help even more. It depends on where the components are placed underneath.

It could be the motherboard because the 700m has the motherboard mostly on the right side. Is there any surface damage, like a few broken keys?

First, are you under warranty? Second, do you have accidental damage service? (I assume not, if you've come here for advice.)

Warranty will not cover something like this, for obvious reasons. But I would say the best thing would be to get an estimate on it. It may save you time - it may or may not be worth repairing, if it's the motherboard. On the other hand, if it's not the motherboard, then you should be in good shape, just in need of a few part replacements here and there.

No visible damage.  What is your suggestion on how I should procede in getting it repaired?

Check your memory, and try re-seating the hardrive,if that does not work then you might have broken the motherboard.

I would call/chat with Dell Support.See what they can do.
