My Inspiron 9300 seems to be running hot. It is running stable, but the chassi appears very warm to me, and it does smell of 'hot computer' Is there anyway I can get a temperature reading for the CPU/GPU/Harddrive? I've tried Everest Home Edition, but all that tells me is that the GPU is  55 °C  (131 °F) the Harddrive is 40 °C  (104 °F)

The bottom of the system appears warmest somewhere between the center and the back-right.

 

These readings where done after approximately 3 hours on AC power, of just running Windows apps, and mainly remote desktop to another system, so the strain on the system will have been very low.

 

I booted the diagnostics partition and the fan test passes. CPU Fan was measured at 2629rpm/4314rpm and GPU 2842rpm/4132.

 

Any comments would be helpfull as I do worry a bit that the system is running too hot.

Pentium M 1,87Ghz

1024Mb RAM

Geforce 6800

60Gb 7200rpm disk
