Lat C610 won't boot up

While working, the screen went black and powered down. Tried to reboot to no avail. Green lights (all) stay on for 2 to 3 seconds and power down. Removed battery and tried AC only. Same thing happened but with AC the green power light flashes every 4 seconds or so. Also removed memory and had the same result. Is my assumption right that I need a new motherboard? Hate to spend the bucks if its a little thing that I haven't tried. (I did D/L IE7 last week. Could that have a possible bearing on the problem?) Tech is not one of my long suits..thanx

Try another power supply first - if that doesn't work, then replace the system board.

Thanks for the resolution..BUT, every so often I pass the computer and for kicks hit the on button. VOILA, it booted up. So far been up for 4 hours and being used. If the system board goes bad will it become a intermittent problem? I have turned it off and on a few times and she's acting normal. I also d/l a temp program for the CPU thinking overheating may be a problem. but its running 39 to 44c.

    thanks again

    Hi,

If it goes bad again, try a VGA screen. If it works with this and not without, it may be the suspend switch. Cheap and easy to fix.
