M6500 memory question

Recently picked up a Precision M6500 with an i5 - 520m CPU. It has two DIMM slots which currently have 2 x 2GB DDR3 @ 1066mhz ram in them.

I am intending to max out the memory in this machine, but have tried two different sets of memory to no avail.

Here is a link to both types I have tried.

I have been told that the M6500 can take 8GB per memory slot, but when my first attempt failed, I tried 2 x 4GB DIMMS just to make sure the 8GB per slot might have been wrong. I also went with Corsair just to make sure it wasn't manufacturer issue.

Is it possible that you have to make sure it's pc3-10600 instead of 10660 or 10666? Especially since this is the lowest level M6500 motherboard and CPU combo?

Going to give this another shot and order some more memory today, but it's seriously going to hack me off if I get memory that isn't compatible again.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ted
