I use my microphone port a lot on my Inspiron 5150 laptop mostly for gaming. I wanted to record this song on my guitar, so I plugged in my gutiar into the microphone port, I did this on my old PC as well and it worked, so I figured I could do it on this one as well. Somehow now it doesn't record as well anymore. My webcam which I attach to my USB has a built in microphone and that works perfectly. But when I try to record or now talk with my headset through the built-in microphone port it records really badly and I get some distortion. I was wondering if this meant that I blewup my microphone port or whether this isn't actually possible.
