slow download speed using cable.

I am getting only 1350kbs running on cable. my desktop gets 3000kbs running on same cable. I need to know how to increase receive buffer size. thanks in advance..

    Although, I don't think you should have to do anything if you are running Windoze XP...come to think of it I haven't since I reloaded the hard drive.

    Have you searched for spyware? Or hit control alt delete to see whatall is running? you may have something trying to update? or a worm?

    And most of it is Free:smileyvery-happy:. Unfortunately DrTCP does/will not adjust XP sp2 it doesn't appear, but at least may help you diagnose what the problem might be. A good one stop site for checking your computer is (again free)

    I contacted motorola regarding my modem and they informed me that my sb4100 cannot obtain the higher 3000kbs and above speeds, as it is running docsis 1.0 and that I should obtain a new model (sb5100) using docsis 2.0
