2007WFP A02 - USB hub

I have a 2007WFP Rev. A02 that I just got exchanged for. Everything is fine and dandy except the USB hub on the monitor. The hub only works when the monitor is on. Well yes, that makes sorta sense but this wasn't the case when I had the Rev. A00 monitor. This pose a big problem for me when I have external USB devices such as an external HDD. I have the external HDD connected to the monitor as its right next to it. So when I go and backup files to it and turn off the monitor while it does its thing (like I did before with the Rev. A00), it'll disconnect the drive from the computer.
Is there anyone else who have this new problem? I tried searching around the forums but no one has the same symptoms I have. Also, is there a solution?
This is getting very, very annoying. This is my 3rd (!) monitor since my original. And really, I don't see much of a difference between A00 and A02 even with the banding.
