Monitor from Amazon, how can I get Dell service?

Hi,

I purchased a U2312HM monitor from Amazon. Since it doesn't have a service tag, I called Dell customer support to try and gain access to the warranty and other Dell support, but I was told to call Amazon to get a service tag. Amazon was unable to provide the service tag. I saw other people on this forum have had help with the same issue I have, and so I figured I would give this a shot. If anybody could help me gain access to a service tag or some other way to gain access to the warranty and support, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for you help.

Call them at 800-624-9897. Somehow navigate to a person without using a Dell order or purchase ID number. Or go back to Amazon and see if they will arrange a monitor exchange.

    MBic,

    * Go to the top of the Monitor Forum board
    * Open the Announcement, FAQ Monitor
    * Open "My 24" or smaller monitor does not have a Service Tag, how do I get Dell service?" (in red)
    * Scroll down to, "Purchased from CostCo, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Buy.com, generic reseller, etc."

    Chris,

How should I go about contacting order support? I found this page ( http://www.dell.com/support/incidents/us/en/04/careforms ) but everything that seems related to what I'm trying to do requires an order number or customer number. Am I missing something?

    Thanks.
