Hi all,
I have to implement a backup of a SAP system on SQL.
As per my poor knowledge about SAP, there is no the NetWorker module for SAP on SQL, therefore I have to find a different way. On the SAP with Oracle side, I knew that a "brbackup" utility was present, in order to backup SAP on filesystem, for example. As per my last days surfing on the internet, the "brbackup" utility is not available for SQL.
Auch.. I stop.
Based on your experience, there is a way to backup SAP for SQL with networker ? I m sure that the module for SQL is not enough. There is another method, eventually running procedures included in SAP itself ??
I believe there are no DBTools for SQL so no br* binaries either. But having SQL backup with module should be enough I believe as all important data is in SQL data files.
Hi, ok, SQL online module can be used. But the question is: it is enough? Does SAP use data on filesystem that have to be backed up in synch with the database ? Or the SAP databases created in the SQL server include all the informations needed to recover from scratch SAP ?
I think by SAP you would have bunch of file which you could backup with flat file system and not worry about sync. SAP support or their help pages should help you with that query. Actually I believe I have seen queries like that on their forum too.
