Usually it's a good idea to have inquire showing everything, but it's not a requirement. If you can create the devices as stand alone, or you can run jbconfig, go ahead and not worry about it.

In other words, can you run jbconfig without problems?

It happens a lot when you cannot see drives in inquire but jbconfig configures them all and they work proerly.

Try inquire -l. If it doesn't help, there is a cache used by inq in /tmp; delete it and rerun it. Also check how devices are reported under ioscan.

In my case,d evices are visible in ioscan & sjisn but not to inquire or even inquire -lc. I will try deleteing /tmp tomorrow...anything else you can suggest.
