Web interface & telnet to 3048 not working

OK 1st let me warn you this is the 1st time I have ever touched a switch!

I have connected to my console, configured the switch stack (2 switches) and they are working, I have multiple users connected w/ no problems. But I can't connect to the switch w/ web or telnet? I have assigned Ip addresses but I just get no response either way? Any ideas on problem, or what I am missing here?

Another side question, will putting a port in another VLAN segregate this port where it is not possible to tlak to any other port? I am tryign to figure out how to take 1 user, connected to this switch adn have him no access to any thing else on the LAN except the firewall so he can have internet access only? Any one know if this is doable & how?

thank,

dawn

Just to check the obvious, have you configured the passwords for telnet and web access?  I am getting to be a pro with Dell switches!!  If this does not work, verify you are running the latest firmware, and if not, download it and install it.  You can download a free copy of Solarwinds TFTP server.  Put the extracted firmware file in the TFTP directory and upload it to the switch.  sselect net and save and when the switch reboots, the firmware should be updated.  Be sure to check your configuration settings afterward.
