Network Connection Problems

I am unable to connect to Vista on a Dimension on a Dell Optiflex with XP. Can do so in reverse. Don't even get a prompt for logn/password. Any ideas?

    Can you ping the Vista machine from the XP machine?  if not, a third party firewall is most likely the casue.
