Hello

Hello

New to the forums.  First I would like to say I love my Dell's.  I have owned 3 of them, and currently own 2.

My Desktop is the following :

Laptop :

I used to own a Inspiron 9300 laptop which I loved until it was stolen.

I am looking for upgrade options for my desktop right now since it is now over 2 years old.  Would love any suggestions

Thanks

Cy

What is it you need to upgrade?  CPU too slow?  Need more RAM?

For a CPU upgrade you can upgrade your Inspiron 530 to as high as a Core 2 Duo E8500.  See HERE.  It's also advised that you update your BIOS to the latest version before upgrading.

Well I wanted to know what my options for upgrading were.

    Can I upgrade the CPU?

I have maxed out the memory as far as I can now.  With a new BIOS and CPU will I be able to go higher on that like 8 GB with 2 GB sticks?

I know I can pump up the video card.

I have put in a 500W PS, something CPU-Z does not tell you.

Also I bumped the sound up with a AZUS Xonar 7.1 card.

Just wanting to see my options so I can keep my system humming for the next couple of years with out buying a new computer.
