Hey everyone

Sorry have tried looking on google and elsewhere and seen that it is possible and not possible to upgrade my cpu to a quad core so i got confused about if it is actually possible or not. My motherboard is the mm599 i do not know what ver of bios i am currently running as i got this computer gave to me and it set a long time before being gave to me. i have 8gbs of ram in it. i have a intel quad core Q9400 2.66GHz 6m cache 1333 cpu that a friend gave me but i do not think it will work even though my current dual core 1.86GHz cpu is a Lga 775 socket and the quad core is a Lga775 socket as well.

Any help would be appreciated as i am not familiar with changing cpus that often unlike other parts of the computer.
