Internal SD Card Reader OptiPlex 7070 Small Form Factor

Hello community,

I am trying to find the Dell part number of the internal SD card reader which fits the OptiPlex 7070 Small Form Factor.

Anyone out there who knows where to buy one? I contacted Dell sales. For some reason which I don't understand, they won't or can't tell me the number. I was told to buy an external card reader.

Thanks.

Chris

    And there you have it.

It seems that info is released on a need-to-know basis only.

Hi Chris, as per the system model we do see that SD Card Reader is an optional part. Please private message us the service tag of the system so that we can check on this for you.

I bought this from eBay and it works just fine in my 7070 with Windows 10:  https://www.ebay.com/itm/123752602883

Not amusing given the front having the ports to put an SD Card into the 7070. I imagine you are as pleased as I was to learn that a DVD+/-RW had become an optional extra when I switched at cost from a 9020 SFF to a 7070. It's like trading your old car in for a brand new one, only to find that you have to pay for wing mirrors and indicators separately. Dell have always been great at allowing options for sure, but some things are hardly special enough. Bluerays and CD's have not quite left humanity yet.
