No POST, amber error code 134

Hello!

2 days ago my optiplex had a memory error. I changed the memory to slot 2 and then it worked fine until today.

When start, it would briefly display an green light, but then it changes to solid amber and the lights 134 turns on.

Also, the fan is spinning on maximum speed.

I tried changing the memory slots again, disconnected all peripherals and removed the dust, but nothing happened.

It could be a motherboard failure but without the exact model number that is only a guess. Please post the exact model number for a better chance at diagnosis.

1 3    RAM is detected; configuration or compatibility error.
    • Reset the BIOS and clear the NVRAM and any previous errors.
    • Remove all memory from PC (including any graphics cards) and determine whether the LED code changes.
    • If it does not, contact technical support.
    • If it does change, reconnect the components one at a time until the fault re-occurs. Test the faulty part in another slot and contact technical support.

To reset BIOS and clear the NVRAM, change the size 2032 CMOS battery if it hasn't been done within the last 5 years.  One can take the battery out for 10 min. and put it back in, but that doesn't do any good if the. battery is bad.

Since you almost had it working with moving the RAM, I think changing the battery might be worth a shot.
