I have a Dell Precision 690 that I use to house a series of virtual servers to testing and development.  Storage is always a problem so I would like to add a second 8 drive SAS enclosure (I've actually already purchased the enclosure and all the drives).  I have a second PERC 5E card but when put the card into the 690 and reboot I get an error "Error initializing PCI slot X".  I beleive the card itself is bad (not under warranty), but before I regroup and spring for a new card I was wondering if anyone can tell me if 2 PERC 5E cards can function and exist in the same 690 without causing any problems.  I would assume they can.  I called Dell and was told they think it would work but they really didn't know.

 

Also, anyone know of a repair place for the PERC card?
