I have a Dell 720 printer which has worked OK untill now. Now when printing a document, the window that opens and shows percent printed goes to 99% and no further. It prints the document OK but it stays at 99% and if I open the printer window it shows it as deleting but it never deletes. I have to turn off the printer to get it to delete the document before I can print another document.
I have the same exact problem! It used to work fine but now does the 99% thing and the printer has to be manually turned off and on again before it will print the next document. Any help would be appreciated!
Come on Dell let us into the secret how do you stop my 720 only printing 99% then refusing to delete the document? Turning off the system every time is a pain
I'm having the same problem... my printer initially worked just fine, but now does the 99% thing (and I haven't even used up the "starter cartridge" yet!).
Also, my printer will not let me delete a job from the queue even though the job has printed. Suggestions?
I am still having to turn my 720 printer off and then back on each time it prints in order print something new. This started suddenly last year and I see that others are having the same problem. Does anyone from Dell read this forum and, if so, do they have any ideas what is causing this annoying problem. Don
Well either Del doesn't read this forum or they don't know the answer to our problem with having to turn off the 720 printer each time in order to print another document. Guess we'll just have to live with the problem. Sure strange it happened to several of us about the same time.
What I don't understand is that when I first got the printer it worked just fine. The problem started awhile back for no apparent reason that I can find. I've checked everything I can think of and can find nothing. Very frustrating.
REALLY frustrating that Dell will not respond. It's a real headache to have to turn the printer off and on after EVERY print job. Guess I'll have to junk this printer and buy something that works. Seems like it was just a ploy to force users to buy ink cartridges from Dell anyway.
Corporate America is getting worse and worse and worse.
And another. We only just bought a Dell Dimension that came with this 720 printer.
One minute it was printing and then suddenly, nothing prints anymore. Closer investigation shows lots of jobs, sitting in the print queue, that have already printed. Reboot, reinstall the drivers and things work again for a while.
I started this thread back last year when my 720 printer suddenly started to hang up at 99% deleted which required that the printer be turned off and back on again. I can now report that it has just as suddenly stopped doing this and now works as it should. I have not done anything to the computer that I'm aware of that would have corrected the problem. Now that I've reported this it will probably start acting up again. Only time will tell.
