First, let me thank you for your advice on getting the Dell 926 to work with W7.  I just got a new Dell Inspiron Desktop with W7.  I followed your instructions and was able to get it up and going.  But, I'm having a problem that may or may not be related to the switchover to W7.  The printer seems to work fine but when I scan anything, I get the "job status window interface has stopped working" error message after the scan is complete.  If I scan to a .jpg, the file appears fine despite the error message.  But, if I scan to a ,pdf, it produces no output file - just the error message.  Another point - although I've had the 926 for several years, I've never tried to scan with it before, so this problem may always have existed - I just didn't know it.  I'm trying to use it now because my other scanner (a Canon) doesn't seem to work at all with w7.  Any ideas?
