Let's try this.  I recently purchases a Dell Wireless Printer Adapter 3300, to use with my All-in-One Printer 962.  The printer was purchased a few years ago and works fine when hooked directly to the computer.  The computer is a Sony Vaio laptop running XP. 

 

Following the installation instructions, I was able to successfully install the Printer Adapter.  Then I was told to re-install the printer drivers.  I followed instructions up to the "Configure Printer" screen.  The Dell 962 printer with the correct Mac Number is identified as "unconfigured."  When I highlight it and click on the Configure button, I get the box with two options: Use DHCP and Configure IP Address Manually.  It does not matter which I click, or if I change the numbers in the Manual Address boxes.  Both result in the dialog box going away and no change to the printer configuration.  Attempting to bypass the configuration fail.  If I highlight the unconfigured printer and click on "install selected printer," it says I need to select a printer from the list.

 

Since the printer drivers had been previously installed for direct printing instead of network printing, I completely uninstalled them and started from scratch.  Same result.

 

I attempted to use the "help."  All it would tell me is to contact my network administrator.  I don't have a network administrator, so this "help" was useless.

 

I attempted to "chat" with a Service Tech.  However, one needs a Service Tag for that.  There is no Service Tag on the Dell Wireless Printer Adapter 3300.  Hence, service chat was useless.

 

I attempted to email a Service Tech.  Again, one needs a Service Tag for that.  Hence, emailing is useless.

 

I attempted to call Tech Support on the phone.  After 10 minutes on hold, I was cut off.  Hence, phone tech support was useless.
