Excel Tip remnant

I had downloaded a program that provided an icon for Excel Tips. After I realized that I wasn't really using it, I removed the program. Now whenever I start up Excel 2000 with WindowsXP Home OS, I receive an alert saying that" C:\Documents and Settings ...\Desktop\ExcelTip.xla cannot be found. Check and spelling of the file name and verify that the file location is correct."
Not an earthshaking problem because I can just click the OK box and all's well, but it is annoying. How can I resolve this perpetuating alert.

Thanks

In excel, head to the Tools menu, then Add-Ins, there should be an add in for ExcelTip that is checked, simply uncheck the box, click okay, restart Excel and you should not see the error message anymore.

When you uninstalled the program, you likely used add remove programs, which removed the program, but in some cases will not tell Excel to remove the association to the add in program. Using the steps above should resolve the error message.
