Is this version the same as the other versions? Do they (either the retailer or Microsoft) check to make sure that you are eligible for this edition?

I really need Office but I simply cannot afford the exorbitant co$t! I noted the price on the Student and Teacher and was immediately elated and then I thought There HAS to be a hitch. I'm a suspicious old thing!
