Hello:

I am trying to swap my 48X CDRom for a non-Dell OEM DVD. 

I have a 2400 that came with a CD-drive D and CDRW-drive E.  I have put the DVD in drive D, but any disk I put in the drive, either Movie or Software, is recognized as an AUDIO CD by the multimedia software.

I set the device to Channel Select like the CDRom I pulled out.  Do I need to change to master/slave?  Should I put the DVD in drive E, as the center ribbon connection?   Can the DVD be slave and the CDRW CS?   Any other thoughts?
