I recently downloaded the updated (12/15/2010) SE/SMC7.2/SPA2.1 virtual appliance from PowerLink but cannot figure out how to license SPA.
I see in SMC where I can apply an SPA license, but it’s looking for a local path on the SMC server, which in this case is the virtual appliance, which I cannot copy files to. Is there yet another new licensing scheme for SPA 2.1??
How does one license SPA when running with the SMC7.2/SPA2.1 vApp from EMC? Do I need a different/new license?

I have tried the same on another ESX Server but the same problem. I will go home and download the zip file again and try the same stuff over the weekend. When did you download this ZIP file from powerlink?
I downloaded the zip file for the vapp on 12/29 this past week. It was dated 12/15 on PowerLink.
Once it was loaded and setup in vmware, we just logged into the configuration interface with seconfig/seconfig, then launched SMC and logged in with smc/smc (and entered the SMC license key on the login screen).

I dont think SPA vAPP supports ELM as of now but I need to check it in the lab.
