Blue Screen 0x00000024 Cannot boot in safe mode either
Please can anybody help ! When I try to boot I get the deadly blue screen and STOP 0x00000024 (0x00190203,0x86610150,0xc000102,0x00000000) - i cannot run windows in safe mode or any other way. I have run diagnostics checks and they are ok ( Dell Dimension 8400) Is there anything I can do that is relatively simple or will I have to reinstall windows. Many Thanks
I would recommend that you insert your Windows XP CD. Restart computer. Press F12 while the Dell logo is still on the screen. Select the CD/DVD ROM as your boot device. If prompted to "Press any key to boot from CD" then do so.
At the Windows Setup screen, press R to enter the Recovery Console. Select the Windows installation (usually number 1) and enter the password (usually blank). At the command prompt, type
chkdsk /r to check and repair the NTFS file system. When chkdsk is done, remove the Window XP and type Exit to restart your computer. It should boot just fine.
Thanks alot for posting this.I've been puzzled for atleast a year about this computer, and bought a new one. So I just want to say thank you alot for your advice, Tony.
