Thanks so much for your reply.  It didnt work.  I get the message can't open input file: r and can't open input file: sndvol32.ex.  It seems the actual file is missing from the CD which seems odd but stranger things have happened.  Cheers

What do you mean can't find it?

My response above gave you information and a link to download the file you're looking for.  Did you try it?

A copy of Sndvol32.exe is in the I386 folder of the XP installation CD (or in the I386 folder on your hard drive if you have that folder). Copy to C:\WINDOWS\system32
