Floppy diskette seek failure

Question

We just bought a refurbished Optiplex 745 with a Duel Core processor, 3GB RAM with Win XP Pro. Every time we turn the computer on, we get this message:

Floppy diskette seek failure
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility

We have gone into setup, and removed the floppy drive, as the computer does not even have a floppy drive. Why do we continue to get this message, and have to click on the F1 button to get the computer to boot up all the time?

Did you find the listing for the diskette drive, usually listed as 'A:', and turn it to 'OFF', or did you just remove the drive from the boot order?  Removing the drive from the boot order won't get rid of this message.  If you did indeed disable drive A:, you should replace the CMOS battery as low voltage will prevent retention of your settings.

Thank you.  We just didn’t look in the right place.  We just removed the drive from the boot order.  It’s been a few years since I’ve looked at CMOS.  I forgot how to get around in the BOIS.  It’s fixed and booting properly now.  :emotion-1:
