A general question that I cant seem to get a grip on. I've read the specs on premium and ultimate several times and it seems to me that ultimate is business oriented. I can get a freebe ultimate but does it make sense for a home user doing the usual light duty tasks. But I am about to seriously upgrade my rig for intense gaming. Might be a stupid question but there it is.
XPS 410
1 gig ram
250 hd
ATI 1300
(all of the above , among others, except 410 will be retired)
Business will like this version for slightly more security, but, Ultimate is welcomed by many others as well, but in reality, it is not needed. Gaming, and Ultimate or Premium, than either one will do the same.
I have both, and have not seen any difference, except one is the 32 bit OS ( Ultimate ), and the other is the 64 bit version, which seems to run a tad bit smoother, but that could be just in my simple minded head only :smileyvery-happy:
If its free.... Take it... But make sure its legal, not pirated
I regret getting home premium and wished I gotten Business or Ultimate. They have things I could have used that I did not know that were not in the home version.
I run Windows Vista Home Premium. No complaints yet. Gaming works fine on it, although I rarely play games on my computer. I agree with SR45 all the way. The decision on what you'd like better is purely up to you.
Ultimate has some "exclusive" features, and may get more, depending what comes next you may think on get Ultimate, The two most "importants" (for me) are BitLocker and the Language Pack... But if you are intereste on get vista with multilanguage functionallity, (I do) some other extras, the DreamScene, and Texas Hold'em are some "cool" stuff Ultimate has... I do hope to get more Ultimate "exclusive" features in the future so the diference it can be bigger
Many thanks guys I've had my dippy question answered by elegant dudes. This forum is da kine. I spend hours upon end perusing. After buying a PC this forum is the next important thing to me.
