I had a few problems with my computer recently and thought that I would just format the hard drive and reinstall XP using the discs I got with my Dimension 3100c.

 

I backed up all my data that I wanted to keep and reinstalled XP.  Now when I start up the computer I have to chose from a list of two, which XP I wish to load up.

 

I have looked around the internet to try and delete the one I don't want as I have sorted out my software problems.  All of the solutions haven't worked so far.

 

I have entered echo %windir% into the command prompt on both versions and both display the same folder c:\windows.

 

I have tried deleting the first line in the boot.ini file after [operating systems] (because out of the list of two, I want to keep the second one).  I also changed the timeout value to 0.  This resulted in windows starting up in the wrong version of XP.  I replaced the modified boot.ini file with the back up I made and deleted the other line.  The same thing happened.  Windows started in the wrong XP.

 

My boot.ini file currently reads:

How do I change this so that windows loads straight into the XP which I originally had on my computer with all my drivers and files?
