Computer = Inspiron E1505

OS = Windows XP Media Center 2005

 

Media Direct, initiated when computer is off results in the blue screen of death?  It works fine if I start it from the applications list when the computer is already running? 

 

How can I resolve this?

 

This started when I reformatted my hard drive (due to serious operational issues) and reloaded OS from scratch.  I used the Dell Reinstallation DVD to  reload the OS.  I used the Dell instructions for loading drivers in the correct sequence. 

 

In addition to the above problem, the display that used to appear when I pressed the volume/mute buttons on the front of the computer no longer appears.  I reloaded the audio drivers and the buttons work but I cannot see the status of the volume as I was able to do prior to the reload?
