Norton AV Update - Not allowed

The last two times I tried the live update from Norton, it said there were files that it could not update.

Here's what Live update gave as reasons for not being able to complete the update.

Sounds like it's time for a reinstall of Norton.  Uninstall Norton, restart Windows and then do the install.

As a followup, I got the live update notification this morning.  I clicked on it and then did the update.  It downloaded and then failed, similar to what you have.  All I did was do the Live Update again and on the second download it installed properly.

Uninstalling and reinstalling NAV can be a real problem if you do not get all of the files out!  I ended up reinstalling three times before I finally got it to work properly.  Search the Symantec knowledge base to determine how to get every file out - if not you are going to have further problems!  I did find an article on that that worked but unfortunately I don't know the address for it at this time.

    Tom5300s,

I had trouble installing the update on two different systems also. I came back about 10 hours later and installed them without a problem on both systems. I've heard from others about having similar problems and believe it's Symantec and not individual. If you do choose the uninstall route here is a link to Symantec for uninstalling their products.
