Recently got my Inspiron 5100 back from repair..I am unable to install windows XP home ..says there is a PCI.sys critical error and then stops the installation.  I was using the cd that came with the laptop at purchase.   So I was playing around with the laptop during my week of no electricity cus of ice storms (2 hours at a time with battery, lol)  Decided to try a friends cd with XP pro on it...it installed perfectly! Now I want MY copy of XP home back in the laptop..any ideas? Is the cd bad?? or what...Thanks ahead of time for any help :smileywink:
