Safely remove hardware shows internal devices

After restoring my Dimension E521 machine back to it's factory settings, my remove hardware safely icon gives me the option to remove my internal hard drive plus my internal DVD drive and DVRW drive.
How do I tell it it shouldn't be asking me to remove those devices?

    Hi
You can read this link !
It may help you understand why it is doing that.
I have the same thing i just got use to it after awhile
or you have to go back to an older driver but you have to remove the new driver
    to do it!
    Good Luck

Thanks for those links. So if I understood what I read correctly, it sounds as if a Nvidia driver made those devices show up under the safely remove hardware icon but I haven't updated any Nvidia drivers.
The only Nvidia device that was installed on my computer was done on 3-6-07 when the computer was built.
My video card driver is dated 12-7-06 and it's for Nvidia GeForce 7300LE.
In any event, it sounds as if I shouldn't worry too much about this. Is that right?

.It use to be just the one option.
    Hi
Go to windows updates and review all updates and see if the drivers were installed form there when you updated windows .
That is where mine came from !

I'm just afraid I could get hasty and click the wrong button.

If you click the wrong button it will not let you remove the hard drives it will say they are in use
but it will on the CD\DVD DRIVE
if that happens just reboot the computer the CD\DVD drive will come back!!
    Good Luck

Thanks. I don't really think about it until I plug my camera into a usb port. Then I click the remove hardware safely icon to turn off my camera and there are 4 choices. It use to be just the one option. I'm just afraid I could get hasty and click the wrong button.
I'll have to be sure I stay on my toes.

Maybe I should try and install it and see what happens.
Not sure what you are saying here !

But the driver you have now is the newest
the only way to change it is to remove it and go back to an older driver ,
the older driver does not show up as safely remove.
Do your reading on removing and installing drivers before you try it thou!!!
You could very well come up with a non working OS if it is done wrong !
    Good Luck

Thanks for letting me know I can't really mess things up on my computer if I click one of the wrong buttons.
I had gone to the list of updates after I read that thread about the Nvidia drivers but it wasn't listed as something I installed.
Maybe I should try and install it and see what happens, lol.
