set up network connections?
Can anyone tell me how to set up my network connections in xp ? My folder is empty and says network connectioon folder was unable to retrieve the list of network adapters on your machine? Please make sure that the network connections service is enabled and running. Then I also have network diagnostics for windows xp : error failed error 0x80070422 the service cannot be started either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices. also in network connections : cannot load the remote access connection manager service. error 711: a configuration erreo is preventing this connection? Just cannot get connected to the internet ???? My wireless card is in the device manager and says it is fine has no problems . but it is not coming up in my internet connection folder ??/ Help!!!!!!! Mike dell optiplex 320 with 1 g ram windows xp

otiss, I went into the services.msc and almost everything in there was disabled. On the windows firewall it would not let me enable it said error 1068 I saw that same error earlier today in a couple of places to do with the firewall. When you restart this computer you know the windows xp logo that come up? This one now comes up 2 times before it starts like there is 2 systems almost??? Dell is sending me the installation cd and system cd Tues or wed I get it Then this operating system has to be cleaned and reinstalled I am sure now? What do you say?mhamrick56

It will not matter that she has sp2 now you can go over it? RE DO IT LATER? What if it tells me the version installed is newer than the disc ? Just keep installing it? Thanks
are you talking about a repair or a reinstall, in a repair you will just have to redownload the updates if the repair goes thru.
in a reinstall you wipe away the old install and put on a fresh one.
you can slipstream the sp2 and other stuff on to xp cd with nLite
here is the guide on how to use it

otiss, Do I just add the sp2 to the cd dell is giving me for windows xp reinstallation ?mhamrick56

what does slipstream mean ???if you follow my link in the other post it will explain stuff, it a term used refering to adding other things to your xp install cd and thus having them install after the cd install your xp.
