I have recently installed a fresh load of Vista Home Premium on an XPS 400. I have loaded the Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS drivers and I have loaded the Sigmatel sound program. That having been said, I find the following issues. When I use the Creative Audigy as the default, I can not here anything in Windows Media player. If I use the Sigmatel as the default, I can here sound in Media player, but only the front two speakers, not the rest of the 5.1 setup. Is there a conflict somewhere?
Thank you for your response. I deleted the Creative Audigy, and then deleted the Sigmatel. Windows Vista loaded its own sound drivers. They seem to work fine, except that on the sound screen in Control Panel it still shows for the three entries, "Speakers - Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (WDM) - Working (Default); SPDIF Out - Creative SB ADuigy 2 ZS (WDM) - Working; Speakers - High Definition Audio Device - Not plugged in.
