The problem with starting Support Assist was cured following your suggestion. Thank you for your help.

However, there are still some remaining problems with the application.

• "Get drivers and downloads":
  • Shows on the home screen as never having been run, even though it has been a number of times during the last week.
  • It took a number of goes to update BIOS, as the app kept showing BIOS needs to be updated urgently, even though it has been successfully updated before.
  • Similarly, Intel RST driver keeps on showing as needing update, even though it has been  updated appearantly successfully a number of times previously.
•  "Scan Hardware" and "Tune Performance - they sometime run, sometime hang.
• "Optimise Network": Hangs , allegedly Preparing. Last time I finally had to kill it after having let it run for 13 hours overnight.

I would much appreciate your help on this problem.
